The Big Red Emergency Night Bus will be up & running this winter helping on the streets of the Fylde Coast with our team of amazing volunteers. We need your help to ensure the bus is the best it can possibly be so please donate or purchase a ticket to one of our fantastic draws and giveaways!

About The Big Red Bus!

The Big red night bus is a very well needed facility and project in Blackpool.
Homelessness numbers are increasing again after Covid-19, people are not being assisted by the council as they were then, meaning people are suffering being homeless once again in the 21st century.
Blackpool does not offer an emergency facility for anyone suffering homelessness, everyone must go through housing options and meet certain criteria – we are bridging the gap for those that can not receive council support.
We are also there for people in emergency situations:

  • Homelessness
  • Hospital / Prison release (no homes to go to)
  • Fleeing domestic violence

We can support any situation if the person has no where to go and faces being homeless.
The bus has been converted into 10 sleeping pods (4 woman / 6 male upstairs), downstairs comprises of a lounge, cooking area, laundry facilities, shower/wc and tv.
People will attend our office to complete paperwork, discuss current situation & assessment, have a police body check for safeguarding and then access the bus 8pm-8am Fri -Sun leaving Monday mornings.
By this time we will have sourced further accommodation with private landlords, supported housing, rehabilitation and appointments with other services as required.
The bus is manned and will have security cameras while operational.
All our volunteers are experienced, trained and have valuable life skill’s required to support people who are vulnerable and homeless.
